Peloton launched on Tuesday its first foldable treadmill, the Tread Flex, priced at $2,195 as its least expensive running product. The company also introduced the Tread Vision and Tread+ Vision, with all three models scheduled to go on sale October 1.
Chief Executive Officer Peter Stern said the expanded new treadmill lineup will help Peloton connect with a much wider audience. He added that the new running products aim to help the company win the entire global multibillion-dollar at-home treadmill market.
The Tread Flex folds to roughly 50% of its floor footprint, addressing space in small apartments and compact home workout rooms. A two-step cylinder release, safety locking pin and caster wheels help owners store the machine when it is not in use.
The Tread Vision costs $3,495 and the Tread+ Vision costs $6,695, with both new models featuring swivel screens and cameras for advanced artificial intelligence coaching and tracking.
Peloton is betting that running's surging popularity can revive sales again after the company's pandemic-era equipment boom faded and its stock has fallen roughly 42% since October 2025.
The North American at-home treadmill market overall is forecast to grow roughly 40% into a $5.6 billion category by 2030. Stationary bikes overall face much slower growth while running and walking have expanded because they are popular, inexpensive and social.
Joe Vennare, chief executive officer of health newsletter Fitt Insider, said Peloton overestimated how pandemic behavior would shift toward home exercise. He noted that spinning classes have now lost momentum as consumers increasingly seek community, measurable progress and better health outcomes.
Peloton also faces cost pressure because people can run outside for free or use cheaper fitness apps and walking pads. The company conducted layoffs earlier this year, and its previous product launch in October 2025 failed to lure back many shoppers.
The new Peloton IQ tools include Run Analysis, which measures cadence, vertical oscillation and stride length to score running efficiency. IQ Pace Targets analyze running to recommend personalized speed ranges while Heart Rate Zone Workouts guide members in Zone 2 sessions.
ReRuns syncs members' actual outdoor route inclines through the Peloton mobile app, and Sled Mode adds up to 300 pounds of software-controlled resistance for heavy strength training.
Peloton said users can integrate Whoop biometric data into Peloton IQ, joining existing support for Apple Health, Fitbit and Garmin Connect. All new software features require an All-Access Membership, except heart rate workouts, which are also available on App+ and App.
Treadmills go on sale October 1 in North America, ahead of the holiday season and a Miley Cyrus Artist Series partnership. The Tread+ Vision targets high-mileage elite athletes and Hyrox competitors with a slat-belt deck, ball-bearing system and exclusive Free Mode.
